New small size Porch Potty is great for small dogs or small patios. The unique design allows instant drainage to either the container stored under the Porch Potty OR the 14 foot drain hose to be directed to any nearby rain gutter or floor drain. The Porch Potty Standard comes with BOTH drainage options.

The Porch Potty Standard is different from the Porch Potty Premium because it does not have a sprinkler system. To rinse the synthetic grass or training sod, pick up any solids first, then use a watering can to sprinkle a few gallons of fresh water over the top and let the Porch Potty drain itself. No soap or harsh chemicals are needed, just clean water a few times per week. The Small Porch Potty can accommodate all dogs up to 40 lbs. Perfect for your petite pooch.

What is Training Sod? Do I need it?

Porch Potty Training Sod

All Porch Potties can use either synthetic grass or Training Sod. Which is better? It turns out to be a personal preference. Most dogs learn to use the Porch Potty best when using the Training Sod because of the natural grass scent that instinctively lets dogs know where to potty. However we find that once trained, synthetic grass works amazingly well. Every Porch Potty comes with synthetic grass, and Training Sod is 20% off when purchasing your Porch Potty.

Training Sod is designed specifically for Porch Potty. Each piece is sized to fit your Porch Potty perfectly. But more importantly, it has been grown without soil, consisting of only the roots and grass blades. This allows the layer of grass to drain properly, and keep the drain hose free of soil and other debris. Simply roll it out on the Porch Potty like you would a piece of carpet. Water the sod 2-4 times per week or keep moist. You can expect the Training Sod to last 1 – 4 months depending on weather conditions and the amount of urine it is exposed to.

I love it. Before buying it I was using training pads for my two Yorkies. One of them preferred the carpet, the other one the tile floor 50% of the time. The porch potty is on the balcony and they both learned very quickly to scratch on the door when they wanted to go potty. I have to use the standard one since I am unable to drain it and I have no water faucet on the balcony. I do have to soak it once a week in the bathtub even so we rinse it daily which is not so great. If we don't do it the urine smell gets really bad. If anybody has an idea what to use other then the recommended solution that would be great

This truly is a dog owners dream come true. The product delivers on its promise, its easy to keep clean and maintain, my dog loves it and I just can't imagine not having it.

I just received the Porch Potty for my rather large Maltese, named Bentley.  I love it and so does he.  After I set it up, my cat thought it was a new place for her to lounge in the sun!  Thankfully, Bentley hadn't used it yet!

Prior to receiving the Porch Potty, I was using a grass type of carpet on my balcony.  I had to rinse it down and then go down the the driveway and rinse that down...not to mention the smell.  I threw that out immediately and replaced it with the much more practical Porch Potty.  I will recommend it to everyone I know, who has the need for one.
